Dupatta love!

An integral part of south-Asian daily life. Be it daily wear or occassion wear, a dupatta is that one piece of clothing which you will invariably see floating around everywhere. They offer the grace of a saree, well almost, without the fuss of having to drape 9 yards of fabric around your body. I collaborated with Shoonya to bring to you two versatile looks- classy, elegant and super comfortable festive looks for the upcoming festive and wedding season.

On a day to day basis, I am the kinda girl who wears a smart top over a denim and I’m done. But being newly married right now, I find myself in suit-wearing situations more often now (and I love it), but the fact that you have to ‘look newly married’ all the time plays a crucial role in your life. All the time!

At such occassions, comfort is always on the top of my mind. And then I have to ‘look newly married’ too. Trust me you, benarasi dupattas are my go-to all the time!

Benarasi fabric, hand-made in Benares (or Varanasi) in India is the finest quality of silk fabric. The fabric offers unparalleled grace, unlike any other fabric. Benarasi dupattas and sarees are sure to wow people around you for their sheen, the comfort, their weightlessness and splendor! I am currently head over heels in love with this bright checked Benarasi dupatta from Shoonya’s new festive collection. Paired with a cold-shoulder long anarkali dress in muted gold, this bright dupatta creates a look unmatched by anything else. The cold shoulders add just the right amount of freshness to the otherwise classic look. I love how this ensemble is perfect for both day and evening wear. For day-time wear, I just wore some jhumkis for jewelry and a pair of bangles with hanging jhumkis to complete the look. For evenings, I’d wear a long necklace with green emeralds (hunting for one right now!). I chose to skip heels with this look and wear these embellished pink juttis from Rehmat Kollection to go with the dupatta.

Let us also take a moment to appreciate how pretty these juttis from Rehmat Kollection are. I love how these matched perfectly with my outfit and add a little oomph to the outfit. The intricate bead and zari work on the juttis make them a perfect choice for your bridal trousseau. Oh, and comfort!shoonya online, rehmat collection
